Money Shot: The Pornhub Story Film Review

There has been one genre of film that i've promised myself that I will never review and while this After Dark blog does kind of skirt around it i've never ever reviewed a full blown porn film. This is something that I feel so strongly about doing and so when I saw that Netflix had released a documentary about Pornhub it felt like a natural fit for this blog then it did my other review blogs and so then join me as I review the film that lifts the lid on the worlds most well known adult film site with the film in question being called simply just "Money Shot: The Pornhub Story" enjoy.

As this is film is documentary it really doesn't have a plot to speak with it's whole set up and premise being about telling the truth about Pornhub. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot and premise being quite interesting and geuinely quiet engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Gwen Adora , Asa Akira , Siri Dahl , Cherie DeVille , Natassia Dreams and Wolf Hudson . Also starring in this film is Allie Knox there are alot other people in this film as well but sadly there not credited on IMDB or anywhere else that I can find online but i'm surprised that the makers of this film went and got genuine Adult film stars to appear on this film since it would have been very easy for the makers of this film to just get people who have heard of Pornhub but don't use it and have them appear in this film instead.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about who they actually got appear in this film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that who they actually got to appear in this film made some very good points. Since both the performers for Pornhub and those that don't work for it pointed out both the good and bad sides for working for the website thus giving us alot more balanced of a view point which was something that I really enjoyed as it made the film seem alot more fair and not bias at all.

What I really enjoyed about this film is the fact that it showed us that the models who work for this website are genuine hardworking people who just want to get their next paycheck. This was something that I really liked as it's something that's not really seen in any media my only issue with it is we don't get to see these guys and girls living their lives day to day and so we don't really get to see how their jobs effect their personal lives which is a shame as that could have made for some great drama to have in this film.

What I really found to be quite disturbing was finding out all of the dark and disturbing stories about Pornhub. This is because of the fact that I just didn't know about any of those stories like how the website was supposedly linked to child trafficking and things like that with all of the stories rather understandably being rebutted by now former site owners MindGeek which makes me wonder if those allegations are true but not for Pornhub but for MindGeek itself since thanks to this film we now know quite alot about Pornhub but we still know next to nothing about MindGeek and given that they have just been bought out by Ethical Capital Partners it does make me wonder if it's MindGeek that's doing things that they shouldn't be doing.

This film does also tackle laws that affect the performers who work for Pornhub and we get to see how that law stops them from getting money. Since thanks to all of the controversy surrounding Pornhub companies such as MasterCard have pulled out supporting the company which means that if you model for the website you can't sell your own videos and thus you can't get paid this is a bad thing since they are being stuck in a terrible situation where they can't get paid for doing what they love to do thanks to some people just being downright terrible people and the media painting these models in with those terrible people when the two groups are so far removed from each other that they really shouldn't be grouped together at all.

This film really doesn't dive all that much into the origins of Pornhub as a website instead the film just assumes that we know how it was created. Which in this case is something that shouldn't have been done since the film is all about Pornhub and so going into origins even if it's just for a short amount of time would have added some much needed context for the rest of the film as well but as things are we just jump around the timeline of events for a while with very little to no rhyme or reason which only makes things confusing for us the audience.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty four minuets and forty two seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for a documentary but at the same time it also felt quite ling for this film to last since outside of covering the websites many controversies it doesn't really need to be as long as it is since it doesn't cover anything else that's all that interesting and this is something that really does effect the overall pacing of the film as well with the opening thirty minuets or so of this film really feeling alot longer then what they really actually are.

So now then since there is some drama in this film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual drama that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual drama that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this film doing a god job of showing us how this websites controversies effect those that work for the website which is something that alot of people don't take into account when there campaigning to take the website down in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a really good documentary which for a mainstream streaming service i'm surprised that they not only made and released but also allowed it to get as adult as it gets which did take me by surprise but at the same time for a film about an adult website is to be expected in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of a 6 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Netflix fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / particular / exact film being Google Images since alot of the images that are from this film and that are currently still indeed up on Google Images are all fairly freaking high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
