There are some films right away that get you hooked by the trailer so much so that you have to find out more about them and you have to see them. With the same thing being true for the film that i'm going to be talking about to you all today as this is a film that has the right title and that gets you wanting to know just what the film is about just from the trailer alone and so then join me as I review the film that technically concludes a trilogy of films with the film in question being called simply just "Beneath The Valley Of The Ultra-Vixens" enjoy.
The plot of this film is really the first ting that's wrong with the film as while the film does have a basic premise that being a man and woman trying to solve there marriage problems that's all it is it's a premise and not a plot. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with the film not really having a plot which is something that can be seen as being a bad thing as it robs the film of a reason for existing in the first place and yet at the same time it is also something that does work well enough in this films favor as its not really a film that needs a plot as the premise alone is more then enough to make the film in the first place as the premise is fun enough and simple enough to make the films lack of a plot work really well however in saying this tho it would have helped the film work even more if the film did have a stronger plot to it as this is something that would make the film standout from all of the other films like this one as alot of them have very similar plots to this one and alot of them have very simple plots to it and yet if this film did have a stronger plot to it then it would have made the film turn to be a whole lot better then what it really is as it would have made the films plot be alot more stronger while still being really fun to watch in the first place with the plot of the film being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Kitten Natividad as Lavonia Shed / Lola Langusta and Anne Marie as Sister Eufaula Roop. Also starring in this film is Ken Kerr as Lamar Shed , June Mack as Junk Yard Sal , Patrick Wright as Mr. Peterbuilt , Michael E. Finn as Semper Fidelis , Steve Tracy as Rhett , Sharon Hill as Nurse Flovilla Thatch , Henry Rowland as Martin Bormann , Robert E Pearson as Dr. Asa Lavender , DeForest Covan as Zebulon , Don Scarbrough as Beau Badger , Aram Katcher as Tyrone , one of this films producers Uschi Digart as SuperSoul , Mary Gavin as The Very Big Blonde and Stuart Lancaster as The Man From Small Town, USA.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With the acting that's in this film being as good as you could expect from a low budget film like this with you getting the kind of acting that you'd expect to see in this kind of film and to be fair the films actors do do some good acting in this film with there not really being a bad actor in the whole film with it being made clear that this films writer , director , editor and photographer Russ Meyer really did know how to get a good performance out of his actors something which he does put to good use in this film with the films best actor being Kitten Natividad as while she's not that good by any means that is something that could also be said for alot of the films actors t's just that out of all of them she's really the only one that really seems to be having the most fun in the film with that being something that really does shine through in the film and makes her performance all the more entertaining as you never really know just what it is that she's going to be doing next with the acting that's in this film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there actual characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.
Characters wise this film really doesn't do all that much better as there's not really anything to all of this films characters. As all they are are just a bunch if note and one joke characters and for the type of shall we say adult film that this is this is something that does make sense but at the same given that this film was co-written by Roger Ebert a man who made career on coitizing films you'd think that he would put his money where his mouth is and help to give us some really good characters and yet sadly he doesn't as there's nothing to these characters other then what they show us in the films opening montage and that's it with Lamar being the character that wants to better himself at the expense of paying attention to his wife and his wife is the kind of character that will do anything to get attention from anyone due to the fact that she's basically a lonely character with all of the films characters being written like there the type of characters that you would find on the first draft of a script and not the kind of the characters that you would want to see in the scripts final draft with this being something that very easily could have been fixed by devoting some of the films screen time to showing other aspects to the characters and not just jumping around from character to character as all that does s make the characters feel weak and the film feel alot like a sketch show that's being shown on the big screen where as if the film did devote sometime to it's characters then it would have helped to make them feel more fully rounded as characters and while not really having the best written characters doesn't really hurt this film all that much as you know right away what kind of film that this is it also doesn't help the film out all that much either.
Something that not alot of you will know is the fact this film does technically conclude a trilogy of films all of which were written and directed by Russ Meyer. With the first one being Vixen and the second being Supervixens with the ting that connects all three films being the fact that a character or in the case of this film two characters appear in them and while you don't nee to see the other two films to get what's going on in this film it would help if you have a basic knowledge of the other two films as this is something that does technically create a cinematic universe if you will however in saying that tho this film have a very small and very minor continuity issue with the previous film which I won't be getting into in this film as it's not important to this or the previous film for that matter but it is something that one you notice you can't really unsee it and as we are in a world now where ever major studio has to have it's own cinematic universe it's nice to see that this small film from the seventies that only a small group of people will know about was actually one of the first ones to do it and yet it does it in a way that's so subtle that you don't even know that that's what it's doing until after the film has finished and heck it would have been nice if Russ Meyer made more films after this one yet he didn't and that is a shame as there are more stories that could have been told in this universe and he was clearly having fun making this films and yet for one reason or another he just never made another entry into this film which is such a shame as these films as bas as they are are also films that are really fun to watch.
To compare this film to another film for a second this film is pretty much exactly like the Monty Python film A Now For Something Completely Different. As this film feels more like a sketch show then it does a feature length film with all p the film scenes not really starting or ending as they give you the basic premise of a scene and that's that much like what they would do in a sketch show but where as in a sketch show that's kind of the point as there trying to tell as many jokes as they can do in twenty two minuets here it feels like it's holding the film back and while And For Something Completely Different could get away with this as that was quite literally just refilmed Monty Python sketches here tho it has to tell one story and therefor having this sketch show like format just doesn't work as it means that us the audience aren't given a reason to decide on if we like this films characters or not and if we want to see them success or not and while yes that this is the whole point of the film and to do differently would go against that point to also do differently would also help in making the film be alot more stronger then what it is as while this film is a really good and fun film that should ONLY be seen by those are eighteen years of age an older that doesn't mean that the makers of this film had to give us badly done characters as if anything the fact that they have this older audience means that they should be giving us these better characters and yet it felt like there was just something missing from this film as the idea for the film works and works really well but it's also an idea that could have been done alot more better then what it ultimately was done.
This film does have all of the things there to be a really good and fun film and yet for one reason or another it just doesn't live up to them. With this being due to the fact that the film does jump around alot of the time which does have the add on effect of making what is already a really thin plot seem even more thinner as the film is more focused on other things then it is in giving us a more well thought plot with well thought characters with the best example of this being the fact that the film does drop several key characters for a large portion of the film only to then randomly cut back to them near the end of film and act as if nothing happened now to the films credit they do make a joke out of this when it comes to one of the characters but for all of the others they get nothing this is despite the fact that earlier on in the film they were treated as being key side characters and given that nothing else that's actually important to the plot of the film actually happens in the film it does make you wonder why they dropped those characters in the first place as they could have had them be recurring "villains" in a sense as that is something that would have made sense for this films world and yet the film doesn't do that with the film instead being more focused on giving this weird and over the top campy moments which i'm not going to lie do work for the film but at the same time it does make you wonder why those moments are there and why we are not seeing more of these other characters that we got introduced to near the start of the film and why those same characters quite literally get killed off at the end of the film as those characters helped to make the film ore fun and could have been a great addition to the plot of the film as well.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty two minuets and forty three seconds. Which to be fair to this film is a fairly solid running time for this film to last and is perfectly in line with alot of the other films that this director has made as well with this film not really having the right amount of plot there to cover that amount of running time as by all rights this film only has about as much plot to cover about roughly thirty to at a stretch maybe forty five minuets yet this film does make the most of it's running time as while it doesn't use that running time all that wisely as the film doesn't really fully develop it's plot with it's plot being wafer thin at the best with the film putting alot more focus on letting us know that the film has some really pretty girls in it then actually giving us the time to fully develop it's plot with this being something that does also effect the films characters as well as none of this films characters have anything to them that makes them standout from one another and yet if the film did take the time to give them some character development even if it's just a line of dialog then it would have helped to make them be more fully rounded as characters and yet it's clear as day that the makers of this film had no interest in doing that and given the type of film that this is that is something that does make sense as the makers of this film knew full well just why people would be coming to see this film in the first place and therefor chose to give alot more attention into letting us know that they have some pretty girls in it then giving either it's plot or it's characters any kind of development but I really will admit that this film rally does have some really good pacing to it tho.
So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this film was in all honesty not that bad. With the film having alot of jokes in it however sadly tho alot of the jokes that the film does have just aren't that funny with some of the films jokes coming from how over the top that the films acting is and can be and just having small weird things like having people bleed different colored blood and other such things which in all fairness does make this film out to be a really unpredictable film as you never really know just what it is that your going to be getting next and while it would be easy to say that this film doesn't really have anything that could be considered it's best the films best joke is in fact the film itself as the film is one being satirical look at life in America with people just doing whatever they can do to make it to the end of week with the fact that they all seemingly bleed different coloured blood being something that does add to the over the top nature of the film and yet at the same time tho it would have helped this film out quite alot if the film did have alot more laugh out loud moments as those are things that would have helped to make the satire of the film feel all the more real and yet even tho the film is one big joke in it's own right the makers of this film doesn't really give us those smaller laugh out loud jokes that would have helped the film be alot more better then what it actually is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and ass well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Amazon . Co . Uk , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images really from this very film being the really great Google Images this is really because of the fact that really all of the images that I really indeed got and really used from Google Images are all really high quality really with all of the images that really are all and of course really currently up and on the really great and the really solid Google Images really are all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
