Ilsa, Harem Keeper Of The Oil Sheiks Film Review

The exploitation genre is one that has many sub-genres all of which lead you down several dark holes and well since we've mostly covered comedies on this blog. It only seemed right that we explored one of those dark holes with the sequel to a film that is so dark that it's become legendry just due to how dark that first film even is and so then join me as I review the film that some how brings back a partly famous villain with the film is question being called simply just "Ilsa, Harem Keeper Of The Oil Sheiks" enjoy.

The plot of this film is Ilsa keeps a harem of women for the oil sheik that she works for but when an American comes investigating the kidnapping of several women Ilsa most choose between the man that she is loyal to and the man that she loves. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty  personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this film being very light on actual plot but when the plot is there it's something that is genuinely quite entertaining and as well as being genuinely quite engaging and thrilling as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Dyanne Thorne as Ilsa , Max Thayer as The Commander and Jerry Delony as Sheikh El-Sharif. Also starring in this film is Uschi Digard as Inga Lindström , Colleen Brennan as Nora Edward , Haji as Alina Cordova , Tanya Boyd as Satin , Marilyn Joi as Velours , Su Ling as Katsina , Richard Kennedy as Kaiser , George Buck Flower as The Beggar and Bobby Woods as Prince Salim.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Since it's the kind of acting that you'd expect to find in a film like this one however that's also the problem since this films acting isn't that good either with all of this films cast just doing the bare minimum to make this films script work well enough for them and turn in some really good performances at the exact same time.

For some strange reason this film turns Ilsa who was very well defined as the villain in the previous film and turns her into the hero of this film. Which if this film was apart of a separate franchise wouldn't be an issue but it's not it's the next installment in a franchise where a character named Ilsa is the villain and so then having her be the hero in this film just doesn't work even more when you take into account that for the vast majority of this film she still acts very much like the villain and not at all like the hero.

If you were expecting this film to get as dark as the previous film then i'm sorry to disappoint you since. This film is actually lighter in both tone and in what is shown to us on screen which is weird because sequels usually double down on what made the first film standout so much but here they took the opposite approach and instead stripped back alot of the things that made the first film standout so much and as such we are left with a film that looks like it doesn't even fit in with the world that the first Ilsa film set up.

This was something that I really didn't know was even the case but one of the guys who worked the camera for this film is the legendary Dean Cundey. With this film being one his earliest films and while him working on this film does indeed make this film slightly better since the film is very visually stunning it still doesn't take away from the fact that alot of this film is just boring as all heck and as well as being just a badly made film.

This film really doesn't do a good job of setting up all of the minor characters with alot of them having next to no personally. Which really does hurt the film in the fact that it really doesn't give us the audience anybody to really care about since the minor characters don't give us a reason to care for them Ilsa spends alot of the film as a minor villain and alot of the other characters also don't give us a reason to care which is film making 101 since your audience still needs a character that is actually likable so that they want to see that character suceed in whatever there main mission  for the film is in the first place.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty three minuets and five seconds. Which is pretty much the exact running that you'd expect a film like this one to have but at the exact same time tho this film really doesn't have alot there interms of either plot or story to cover that amount of running time and as such this film really does feel quite boring alot of the time.

So now then since this is a horror film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With this film having alot more gore then what I thought that it would have but at the same time it's not really all that really scary either at all in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is a huge stepdown interms of quality from the first film but the exact same time tho given that this film doesn't even explain how in the heck Ilsa is even alive given that she died at the end of the previous film it makes you if the makers of this film even bothered about this franchise at all in  my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / particular / exact film being Google Images since alot of the images that are from this film and that are currently still indeed up on Google Images are all fairly freaking high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
